What the case is about
Friday, 15 September 2023. At 19:42 somebody drains the treasury of BullGains, the token Matías Medina sold to half the country from Instagram. Before dawn, Medina is dead of a gunshot in his Puerto Madero loft and Victoria Diaz, the developer who wrote the contract, is floating in the pool of her house in Nordelta.
The file already has a suspect: Tomás Silva, the programmer Medina fired at the top of his voice three days earlier. His prints are on a glass in the loft, and a screenshot shows 50,000 USDT leaving his wallet towards someone called Alpha_Services. By nine the next morning that screenshot was the headline everywhere. Too tidy.
Around the case orbit Federico «El Tano» Marinucci, the adviser who put up the seed money; Sofía Mendoza, the accountant who saw the drain alert; Diego Torresin, the journalist investigating the scam who protected his source; Mateo Russo, who published the screenshot without checking it and had his own reasons to hate Medina; and Martín López, the neighbour who called security.
